San Diego Car Detailing Prices

Pricing, up front. Every Severin Detailing price in one place: Full details from $110, Deluxe from $220, ceramic coating from $299, paint correction from $399, plus add-ons, memberships, and the Express maintenance rate for returning cars.

How our pricing works

We publish our pricing because you should know the cost before you book, not after. Mobile packages come to your home or office, priced by tier and vehicle. Ceramic coating and paint correction are the in-shop services, priced by protection level and correction depth. Add-ons are a la carte, and memberships keep a daily driver on schedule for less. Prices are ranges because vehicles vary; we confirm the exact figure for your car before we schedule.

How it works

Three tiers, two ways of working, one price list.

Trying to budget a detail without calling five shops? Here is the whole model. Mobile detail packages come to your home or office and are priced by tier: Full for the first deep clean, Deluxe for the maximum treatment, and Express as the maintenance rate once your car is already on our schedule. Interior and exterior are priced separately or bundled as a Complete.

Ceramic coating and paint correction are the in-shop half of the menu, performed at our Sorrento Valley location because coatings need a controlled environment and cure time. They are priced by protection level and how much correction your paint needs, not by tier.

Two things move any price within its range: vehicle size and condition. A compact sedan in decent shape lands at the bottom of a range, a packed three-row SUV at the top. That is the honest reason car detailing prices in San Diego are shown as ranges anywhere you look. The difference with us is that the range is published, and the exact number is confirmed before we book, not negotiated in your driveway. The ranges on this page are our current mid-2026 rates, the same list we quote from by phone and text.
Mobile packages

Interior and exterior, tier by tier.

Every mobile tier is the same price whether it is the cabin or the paint, which keeps the mobile car detailing prices easy to compare. Bundle both as a Complete and the whole car gets done in one visit for less than two separate bookings.

Full: the starting point

Interior or exterior, $110 to $150, about two to three hours. This is where first visits begin: deep clean, light stain removal, UV protection inside, or decontamination and a two to three month sealant outside. Most cars that have gone a year without attention belong here.

Deluxe: the full reset

Interior or exterior, $220 to $320, three to four hours. Steam, shampoo extraction, and deep stain removal inside; full decontamination, iron removal, and clay bar outside. The tier for trade-ins, new-to-you used cars, and cabins or paint that have been through something.

Express: the maintenance rate

Interior or exterior, $60 to $80, under an hour. Reserved for cars we have detailed recently, because upkeep takes a fraction of the time recovery does. Think of it as the rate you unlock by staying on schedule, not the entry price.

Complete: both in one visit

Full Complete runs $210 to $300 and Deluxe Complete $380 to $600, covering the entire car inside and out in a single appointment. Express Complete, $100 to $150, keeps maintained cars fully fresh in about an hour and a half.
In-shop

Ceramic coating, priced by the year.

Ceramic pricing comes down to durability. A 1-year coating starts at $299 and is the entry into real protection: wash, decontamination, light polish, coating. The 3-year tier, from $699, adds a 1-step correction so the coating locks in better paint. The 5-year tier runs from $899, and the premium 7 to 9 year package, from $1,199, includes a 2-step correction and a warranty.

Those are sedan and coupe starting prices; SUVs and trucks add roughly $100 per tier for the extra surface area. Every ceramic package is performed at the Sorrento Valley shop, same-day for the 1-year tier and one to three days for the rest. What each tier includes lives on the ceramic coating page, and the deep dive on cost, including the math against waxing, is in the ceramic coating cost guide. Coating work holds a bay for one to three days, so in late summer it is worth booking a week or two ahead to get the drop-off day you want.
In-shop

Paint correction, priced by stage.

Correction is about how much defect removal your paint needs. A 1-step correction, from $399, improves gloss and clears roughly 60 to 70 percent of swirls and haze in a day. A 2-step correction, from $649, works deeper for 80 to 90 percent improvement on rougher finishes. Black paint, large trucks, and heavy damage can push a quote higher, which we confirm on inspection.

Most owners pair correction with a coating, since polished paint is the right canvas for ceramic. The paint correction page covers how the stages differ and what your paint likely needs.
Common situations

What budgets like yours usually book.

Four common starting points, and where the money actually goes in each one.

First detail in a long time

If the car has gone a year or more without professional attention, budget for a Full Complete ($210 to $300) or, for heavy buildup, a Deluxe Complete ($380 to $600). Starting with the right tier costs less than booking a light detail twice. After that first reset, the Express maintenance rate becomes available and upkeep gets cheap.

Common scenarios: yearly deep cleans · post-road-trip recovery · new-to-you used cars · daily drivers overdue

Keeping it clean monthly

Owners who want a permanently clean car do the math on memberships. Plans at $120, $200, and $350 a month put the car on a schedule, carry priority booking, and use the Express rate for upkeep visits. Compared to booking one-off Full details every few months, the monthly plan usually wins on both price and consistency.

Common scenarios: commuters · rideshare and client-facing cars · families with two vehicles · anyone tired of rebooking

Protecting a new car

For a car you plan to keep, the budget question is coating durability. The 3-year ceramic at $699 is the sweet spot for most: correction plus years of protection for less than three years of quarterly waxes. If you are keeping it past five years, the $899 and $1,199 tiers cost less per year of protection, not more.

Common scenarios: new purchases and leases you will buy out · garage-kept weekend cars · coastal parking · dark paint that shows everything

Selling or trading in soon

Spend where the buyer looks. A Deluxe interior ($220 to $320) plus a Full exterior ($110 to $150) usually returns more than it costs at appraisal, and a 1-step correction (from $399) can wake up sun-tired paint before listing photos. Skip the long-term coating; that money belongs to the next owner.

Common scenarios: trade-in prep · private-party listings · lease returns · fleet turn-ins

Bundling math

Booking piecemeal vs bundling.

The price list rewards doing things together. Here is the honest math, from our own published numbers.

Booked separately

  • Full interior ($110 to $150) plus Full exterior ($110 to $150) booked on different days: $220 to $300 and two appointments
  • One-off Full details a few times a year with no schedule: full price every visit, no Express rate
  • Correction one month, coating later: two drop-offs, and the paint picks up new swirls in between
  • Add-ons booked alone still carry the visit overhead

Bundled

  • Full Complete: $210 to $300 in one visit, the same or less than separate bookings with half the scheduling
  • Membership from $120 a month: scheduled visits, priority booking, and the $60 to $80 Express maintenance rate working for you
  • Correction plus ceramic in one drop-off: polished paint sealed the same week, from $699 all-in on the 3-year tier
  • Add-ons like pet hair (from $35) or engine bay ($60) cost least when stacked onto a booked detail

Memberships

The monthly plans, priced out.

Three plans, built around how hard your car works. The Basic Plan at $120 a month covers two Express details monthly plus 10 percent off any additional services, which keeps an already-detailed car permanently presentable. The Standard Plan at $200 a month pairs one Full detail with one Express every month, plus 15 percent off extras, the best balance of deep cleaning and upkeep for most daily drivers.

The Premium Plan at $350 a month runs two Full details monthly with priority booking and 20 percent off additional services, built for high-end vehicles or cars that live a hard life between visits. Every plan includes the scheduling, so you stop thinking about it entirely.

The math worth doing: two one-off Express-equivalent visits would not even be available to a new customer, and two separate Full details run $220 to $300. If your car needs attention more than once a month, a plan on the memberships page is almost always the cheaper route, and it is the only way to lock the maintenance rate in as your default.
The variables

What actually moves the number.

Four things, and only four. Vehicle size is the biggest: a two-seater and a three-row SUV are different afternoons of work, which is why SUVs and trucks land near the top of a range and add about $100 per ceramic tier. Condition is second: a cabin that has skipped two summers of cleaning takes more extraction time than one we saw in spring.

Third is scope, the add-ons: pet hair, odor treatment, engine bay, coatings for glass and wheels. Each is a fixed, published number, so scope never surprises you. Fourth is history: cars already in our rotation qualify for Express maintenance pricing, which is the single biggest discount on this page.

What does not move the number: your zip code, the day of the week, or how nice your driveway looks. Mobile car detailing prices here are the same countywide, with no travel fee inside the coverage area.
A la carte

Add-ons and small jobs.

Some problems are their own line item. Pet hair removal starts at $35 on top of any detail, and odor removal, the real treat-the-source kind, starts at $50. Engine bay cleaning is a flat $60, safe degrease and dress, standalone or added on. Glass coating runs $100 and wheel coating $120 for protection where the road actually hits. Headlight restoration is quoted on inspection because oxidation varies too much for one honest number. Every add-on is cheapest when it rides along with a booked detail rather than standing alone, and the services page shows how each one fits.
Why published

Why every price is on this page.

Most of this industry quotes by phone, after looking at your car, and somehow the number always lands higher. We publish the whole price list instead: it is faster for you, it holds us to our own numbers, and it is why we can put a 5.0 Google rating next to our prices without flinching. Severin Detailing is licensed and insured, and the figure we confirm at booking is the figure you pay.

One honest caveat: a published range is still a range. If your car is bigger or rougher than described, we say so before work starts, never after. That is the whole deal, and it is why the auto detail prices San Diego owners compare us against rarely stay on the shortlist long.
San Diego County

Same price list, all over the county.

Mobile detailing prices do not change by zip code: a Full Complete costs the same in Chula Vista as it does in La Jolla, and there is no travel fee inside our coverage area. Ceramic and correction clients drive to Sorrento Valley from everywhere. These are the areas we serve most.
Common questions

Pricing questions answered.

How much does car detailing cost in San Diego?

A complete mobile detail covering the whole car runs $210 to $300 for the Full tier and $380 to $600 for the Deluxe. Interior-only or exterior-only details are $110 to $150 for Full and $220 to $320 for Deluxe. The $60 to $80 Express tier is our maintenance rate for cars we have detailed recently. The right tier depends on vehicle size and condition.

How much is interior versus exterior detailing?

Each is priced the same by tier: Full is $110 to $150 and Deluxe is $220 to $320, whether it is the inside or the outside of the car. Booking both together as a Complete package usually beats booking them separately when the whole car needs attention.

What is the Express tier, and why is it cheaper?

Express is a maintenance detail, priced at $60 to $80 for interior or exterior and $100 to $150 for a Complete. It is reserved for vehicles we have detailed recently, because keeping a clean car clean takes far less time than recovering a neglected one. First visits start with a Full or Deluxe, and Express keeps the results going after that.

Where can I see ceramic coating pricing by tier and vehicle size?

The short version: coatings start at $299 for the 1-year tier, $699 for the 3-year with a 1-step correction, $899 for the 5-year, and $1,199 for the premium 7 to 9 year package with a 2-step correction and warranty. SUVs and trucks run about $100 higher per tier. The full tier-by-tier breakdown, including the worth-it math, lives in our ceramic coating cost guide.

How much does paint correction cost?

A 1-step paint correction starts at $399 and removes roughly 60 to 70 percent of swirls, haze, and light defects. A 2-step correction starts at $649 for heavier defect removal and deeper gloss. Larger trucks, black paint, or heavily damaged finishes may be quoted higher. It is performed in-shop, by appointment, and a ceramic coating can go on top for long-term protection.

What do add-ons cost?

Add-ons are priced a la carte alongside any detail: pet hair removal from $35, odor removal from $50, engine bay cleaning $60, glass coating $100, and wheel coating $120. Headlight restoration is quoted on inspection since oxidation varies. We confirm which ones make sense for your car when you book.

Do you offer detailing memberships?

Yes. Monthly plans run $120, $200, and $350 a month and keep your car on a regular schedule with priority booking and member pricing. Because members qualify for the Express maintenance rate after their first full detail, a membership is the cheapest way to keep a daily driver consistently clean.

Why is the price a range instead of one number?

Because vehicles and their condition vary. A compact car in good shape sits at the lower end of a tier; a large SUV, a heavily soiled interior, or paint that needs extra work sits at the upper end. We give you a firm price for your specific vehicle when you book, with no surprises after.

Which services come to me, and which are drop-off?

All of the detail packages, Express, Full, and Deluxe, are mobile and come to your home or office. Ceramic coating and paint correction are the two services performed at our Sorrento Valley shop, because they need a controlled environment and cure time a driveway cannot provide.

How do I get an exact price for my car?

The Book Now flow walks you through vehicle, package, and time, and shows the price as you build it. Prefer to talk it through? Call us with the vehicle and what it needs and we will confirm the exact tier, any add-ons, and the price before anything is scheduled. Everything is published up front, so you know the cost before we book, not after.
